KO AND MA - E MAKING THE CROWD GO ABSOLUTELY CRAZY! 

By now you should have seen the official video for the Honchos And Dimes event that was hosted by HUNTERS EXTREME and HEAD HONCHO last month, it was a definite #TURNUP and if you missed it, I can only imagine the FOMO you must have after watching the video, (LOL). Something that definitely needs to be commended is the amount of hits that the video has recieved... just over 9000 hits, niiiine thoooooousand!!! Toooo dope actually!! The video was created by THE VCG who are beyond talented to say the least. The video features the stars of the night, KO and MA - E who had the Honchos at the Loop out in CPT begging for more! The first bloggers class was hosted last month by the lovely TALYA GOLDERG & AMY SCHEEPERS! 

Crazy how time has flown as its been over a month already! Twenty eager to learn bloggers braved the storm and arrived promptly at the VIDA E CAFFE out at the Boulevard in Woodstock. Bloggers were greeted with personalised goodie bags and well needed coffee before the class began.  Personally, as someone who stalks the T GETHER NETWORK quite often, it was surreal to see Talya (SHADES OF GOLD)  and 

Amy (FANCY PANTS) in the flesh (Someone pinch me kind of a moment). However, they were so chilled on schooling all of us and making us all extremely comfortable! So comfortable that it almost didn't feel like a class!  

Lots was learned on the morning and it definitely made me rethink the way I do things, maybe not just with my blog but life too! *queue's dramatic violin music* My notebook was filled with notes by the end of the #BBLOGCLASS, but of all the things that was said, brand loyalty seem to stick in my head the most! Being loyal to your personal brand and brands that you desire to be apart of! I loved #BBLOGCLASS so much! Just to be in a room with complete strangers and networking really proved how awesome it was! THANK YOU! There will definitely be another so stay tuned to their timeline over HERE and make sure you don't miss it, totes worth it!

BUTAN DROPS THEIR NEW WEBSITE #TBT

Thought I'd do a young throw back to just last week! BUTAN silenced quite few haters by dropping their brand new website, BUTAN WEAR :: HEED THE CALL! The website is quite crisp and has a fresh vibe about it. It is extremely easy to navigate your way around the site that's filled with some really dope content from the local streetwear brand. The pictures used for the site are pretty dope too, thoroughly enjoyed the LOOKBOOKS, definitely keen on seeing next one!

The best part of the new site has to be the STORE, a little bit (or a lot) of online shopping never hurt anyone! The look of the online store is appealing to the eye and I love how in symmetry the items are displayed. BUTAN have also really paid attention to detail, by just hovering your mouse over an image, it shows you close ups and different views of the items. The navigation, once again is a win, I just love the categories in which you can sort the items into.... "default", "newness" and of course, price, "high to low" or "low to high." It may be a small touch, but this simple tool makes it extra convenient for the site visitor.

Major props go out to team BUTAN for their brand new website, they've done a superb job! Definitely raising the benchmark as far as websites and online stores go, especially for local streetwear brands. Awesome to see such growth locally! I saw quite a few items that I like, so I'll definitely be logging on again! I'm repping the BUTAN BRAVEHEART 5 PANEL in this post. A MADE STATEMENT!

I woke up to the loveliest Insta tag and tweet on Sunday morning past. My good friend Dane Lively spotted Solar rocking her #MADEbyTJ cropped crew neck in a magazine. Shame, he must've gotten so excited as he tagged the wrong magazine accidently. (LOL) Regardless of the incorrect tag, we soon realized that the picture was actually in the latest issue of Grazia SA! Turn to page 30 of the magazine and you'll spot the gorgeous Solar on the left hand side! How awesome?!

CREATIVE UNION LUNCH #TBT

  
March has flown by and it has been quite a productive month. Earlier this month I was down in Johannesburg for a Creative Union lunch. Was so good to see everyone involved with last years Play Energy Drink campaign after not seeing them for a while. The Play fam always take good care of us and hosted their lunch out in Parkhurst at the The Wolfpack. Apparently they make the yummiest burgers and there definitely wasn't any disappointment! Besides the yummy food, I was addicted to the berry mojito for the entire day, it went down so well!! It was definitely a memorable day! It's not often that you would learn something from a lunch, but being around so many creatives, who are leaders in their various fields was totally inspiring!! Filled with loads of laughs and tears, it was definitely a memorable day!

SOLAR POWER!!!

My heart just melted  when viewing these pictures! The gorgeous Solar was seen at MBFW this past weekend, looking absolutely stunning! Solar totally rocked her look in a MADEbyTJ cropped crew neck, paired with a high waisted black skinny, black stilettos and a black handbag #FLAWLESS 

Seeing pictures like these are so incredibly encouraging. Makes me want to quit my 9-5 day job and make HOT ladies streetwear on a full time basis! Definitely something that I'm working towards. Not to just put my name on a tee or crewneck, but to produce quality in every piece of clothing. Unique yet stylish streetwear for ladies is so hard to find these days, often us ladies have to purchase male local streetwear items as there isn't an alternative. I must admit, I'm obsessed with local brands, and I too purchase a few male items, which I LOVE, but it would be nice to see as many ladies streetwear options as there are for the gents.

THE FIRST ANNUAL HEAD HONCHO SUMMER PICNIC!!!

Just when you thought that summer could not get any better... the HONCHO'S just had to prove you wrong! This weekend, the 8th of March 2014, HEAD HONCHO will host their first of many annual Summer Picnic's.  Now this is just not your ordinary summer picnic, the Honcho's of course had to raise the bar yet again! It's said to be a fun filled event with many activities to do on the day such as jumping castles, drunk tanks and foam pits! Honcho Dimes, be sure to bring your bikinis! There will be food vendors on the day selling some yummy food for you to get a good lining.  What's a Honcho picnic without a turn up, so bring your own booze! (Crazy I know... but so ridiculously awesome!)

If that's not enough, the line up for the day is just insaaaane, filled with plenty of local talent! Professor, DREAM TEAM and Mr gusheshe gusheshe himself Cassper Nyovest will be setting the stage alight! Cape Town's finest DJ's, LOYD, LYLE, CUDI and VEE F BABY (to name but a few) will have you jiving on the day! Its all going down at the beeeeeeautiful Hillcrest Quarry out in Durbanville.

BLESSED REGARDLESS

 

As the end of January approaches, I thought I'd make my first post for the year a subtle one (no turn up here). The month has flown by so quickly, before we know it, it will be the festive season again. I am extremely excited for the year ahead and all the new challenges I'll be facing. 2013 taught me so much! Made some awesome new friends and experienced quite a few life lessons. I'll remain remembering the aaaaaawesomest ups, rather than

those crappy downs

 

 

There are some amaaaaaaazing creatives doing some even more amaaaaazing things for our local streetwear game, definitely upping the standards locally! Spotted some dope and unique local brands, definitely looking forward to sharing all of this with you! If you know any awesome up and coming local streetwear  brands, be sure to let me know!
