HEAD HONCHO 5TH BIRTHDAY BASH!!!

After recently celebrating their fifth birthday team Head Honcho have decided to take the celebrations to a whole new level! The Honcho's will host a block party, and Bennet street out in Green Point, Cape Town and will be the place to be on Saturday night! Now not only is the venue cray, but the line up makes sure for a spectacular day of partying!! Looking forward to all the performers on the night, but I'm sure that old school kwaito flavor by none other than Thebe is going to cause havoc on the dance floors!

The entertainment doesn't stop there!! The DJ line up is looking proper with Loyd, Lyle and Cudi repping CPT. Nice to see the cuties Twins on Decks on the line up too, its been a minute since I've heard them play, I hope they bring some heat!

 

Tickets are R200 for general access and R300 for VIP and are available at Computicket. For a table booking e-mail the Honcho's on info@headhoncho.co.za. The VIP area always gets the craziest at these parties, so its awesome to see how the Honcho's have planned ahead by booking the whole of Trinity for VIP only! Going to be insane!!

BOASTON SOCIETY PRESENTS: LEVELS BRAND WEEKEND! ! !





This weekend the Boaston Society team will host yet another edition of Levels Brand Weekend. A pop up market like no other, selling the latest streetwear fashion with over fifteen brands being featured on the day! Look out for all the local streetwear brands. Speakers for the day include Julian Kubel (Butan), Anees Peterson (Young and Lazy), and Jermaine Charles (ZAXL). Ive had the pleasure of meeting each one of these gentlemen, and hearing their insights on the local streetwear industry is definitely something not to be missed!!! It's all taking place at Nelson Mandela Rhodes this Saturday and entry is free!

 

I attended the previous Levels Brand Weekend and it was such fun! Always awesome to see what sort of talent Cape Town has. The local streetwear game is definitely growing and to see so many brands, all being showcased out at Boaston Society was just so encouraging! POWER PLAY ENERGY DRINK PRESENTS THE GRIFFIN SESSIONS

 

The second installment of the #GriffinSessions is taking place tomorrow out in Selby, Johannesburg. It's our grand finale as the #CreativeUnion draws to a close, and so we have to end off with a BANG! The Griffin Sessions is back with a bigger and better line up as well as some out of the ordinary activities to do on the day! The event starts at 2pm and will run until 2am in the morning!

 

There will be not one but THREEEE stages to cater for all your musical needs! The Turn Up Stage, will feature Capital, Speedsta, Cosmo, AKA and Da Les, Professor, Reason, Naves and Sphectacula and PAC DIV . Stage 2 will be the house Stage and will feature Lulo Cafe, Franky, Wireless G, Lady Ming, Octave, House Catz, and Benny Maverick. For some old school flavor we have the Pockets Are Fat Stage and will feature Vardz, Kenzhero, Akio, P-Kuttah, Amu, and Loveslave! An absolutely insane line up for both performers and DJ's, but we couldn't just leave it at that! We've added some fun things to do on the day such as paintballing and a matrix booth. Head Honcho, Thesis and Dope Store will each be having a pop up store at the event for you to stock up on some fresh gear! Tickets are R100 at the door and R80 presold via Computicket. WHATS IN THE BAG: SWEDE AND CROWE

After winning a voucher for the Henry store, I decided to purchase two locally made items #heartLOCAL. I saw some really cool five panel caps, but these two were my fave and made by the ever growing brand that is Swede & CROWE. Swede and CROWE are based in JHB and have quite a few stockists. I first learned about them while shopping at THE LOT.  They have plenty of fun and quirky designs, and because of the design, I love that no two printed panels are the same. What makes this brand even hotter, is that the front peak isnt too long and the fit is superb... even on a girl (We gotsta look BADASS too!) 

However, it doesn't end there! Swede and CROWE also make shoes, shorts and shirts. It looks absolutely amaaaaazing when its all worn together! Been  keeping tabs on their Facebook page, and the summer range looks just as "BADASS!" Totallaaay inlove with the shoes and cant wait to see their Pork Pie Hat in stores! #JHITS

HENRY.

I spotted a little shoppee a few months back while out clubbing with some friends. I had never noticed it before, but that night, I just chilled in front of the store's window trying to spot something cool, it look so intriguing! When  I returned to Henry a few days later, to have a look at what the store was about, I was quite impressed. Its raw walls showcase some pretty awesome pictures of friends! Housing fashion from SA, Denmark & London, including their own brand, Modern Geeks! Their clothing is definitely something different but oh so brilliantly unique!

As luck would have it, Work's Kak were running one of their usual competions to win a R400 store voucher, and of course I entered! Its always lovely to win things, nothing like a good free rand ninety nine purchase! Needless to say, I was tooootally stoked on winning! So... I was quite happy to return to the store again!

Hope everyone's excited as for the next episode of #CreativeUnion as I am! The first episode was so cool! It was edited suuuuuper nice, all love to Callback Dreams for all the hard work! Extremely weird but feel so privileged  to see myself on TV in the company of some extraordinary people, love it! LOOKPOST: LOKI

 

 

 

 

Its been quite some time since we've heard from the Loki camp. Those of you who are familiar with my blog will know that the very first post that I've ever done was on the Loki brand. Not familiar with Loki? Well they're a group of 20 something's from the Macassar area in Cape Town who built their screen printer from scratch and have been building the brand and for the last year or so. I bumped into co-owner and head designer Elton Dick on the station last week and had to take some pics! While being very reluctant to pose for pics, he let's me know that they're close to dropping their next range! Awesome! We're all patiently waiting! In the meantime, here's a look at what Elton was wearing, if this crew neck is anything to go by, I cant wait for Loki's next drop!

On the eve of the #CreativeUnion premier, I thought it would be fitting to post a few pics of my first encounters with the Play Energy Drink fam. A few months back I was informed that I was successful in a selection process to be apart of Play Energy Drinks new campaign. First on the agenda was to attend a briefing workshop in JHB. I met a lovely lady and fellow mentee Tania Pehl at the airport with her mentor and hero, the awesome Max Mogale. Such an entertaining pair! Awesome to meet all the other mentors and mentees and to start getting excited about the road ahead!
